Galerie Filser & Gräf, in collaboration with Mara Projects, presents the exhibition Forensic Logic, bringing together works by Blerta Hashani, Nona Inescu, and Tabata von der Locht.
The three artistic positions understand the extracted, the withheld, and the destroyed as primary material. Absence is not merely seen as documentary evidence of what once existed; rather, their focus lies on the conditions of transformation.
Hashani proceeds with almost surgical precision in her decisions about what to remove. The raw jute surface serves as an absorbent ground for her small-scale paintings—a deliberate choice that allows the inscribed bodies to emerge in isolation and unfold their particular tension.
Inescu photographs silvery, skeletal structures situated within landscapes marked by wildfires, later presenting them emptied within the exhibition space. The body appears simultaneously present and absent, opening up a productive perspective in the face of ecological destruction.
In an act of sedimentation, Tabata von der Locht removes varnish, soot, and anonymous residues from urban walls and transfers them onto textile collages. The works reject the myth of neutral surfaces and instead engage with the forensic logic of what has been revealed and left exposed.
Mara Projects London/Tirana
Mara Projects was founded by curator Lisja Tërshana and operates nomadically between London and Tirana. Through collaborations with galleries, institutions, independent spaces, and international art fairs, the organization develops site-specific projects with both emerging and established contemporary artists.
Its program operates in two areas: an international exhibition circuit and an ongoing commitment to building a commercial art infrastructure in Albania.
