Michael Fieseler, prizewinner of the Darmstadt Secession, was a master student of Kurt Haug at the Kassel Art Academy and paints at a technical level achieved by few. He develops his own themes and composes these ideas with the confidence of an expert.
In this solo exhibition we are presenting the fantastic works of Michael Fieseler (*1966, Bad Arolsen) for the first time in Munich.
Michael Fieseler’s theme is the 19th century. A time of great contrasts: Intoxicating, irrational longing and feeling and precise, provable, objective science; the last throes of feudal power and the simultaneous growth of bourgeois and industrial structures; the emergence of inhuman ideologies as a substitute for religion and the targeted communication, organization and creation of provable, objective knowledge in schools and universities.
The historian Prof. Jürgen Osterhammel describes this era vividly in his work “The Transformation of the World”.
