A logbook and a diary have more in common than one might think: both record what has been experienced – in concise entries that tell of journeys or encounters. Christa Filser’s images work in a similar way. Each piece is an entry: a small story, an encounter, compressed into a single scene, told through figures that appear in armor and costumes of ornament and mechanics, often in a childlike stillness – and alongside them, landscapes that belong to no geography. Like planets, countries, or cities without names, yet carrying something deeply familiar: the gesture of curiosity, the hesitation before the unfamiliar, the sense of wonder.
